Description: The Southern California Turfgrass Council was incorporated in 1957 as a nonprofit organization. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors who serve on a voluntary basis. The purpose of the Council is to promote education and research for the turfgrass and landscape industries. In this new century, the SCTC will continue to be the clear leader in research and education. Not only is the Council an active advocate for the dissemination of educational information, it is committed to making substantial donations to vital research programs from such institutions as U.C. at Riverside, U.C. Cooperative Extension Program and California Polytechnic University. The future holds a continued expansion of monetary support for these and other research programs in our area.
