Self Move Frequently Asked Questions
1. When is the trailer available for loading and unloading?
Delivery of the trailer for loading and unloading is only available Monday – Friday. However, if a trailer is delivered for loading on a Friday, pick-up of the loaded trailer is not until the following Tuesday. You will have two full weekdays (48 hours) to load and unload.
2. What goes on the rest of the trailer and what is a Sealed Divider?
Your shipment is loaded first into the "nose" of the trailer and unloaded last. Because your shipment is the only household goods shipment on the trailer, we require a Sealed Divider to separate your shipment from the rest of the commercial shipments. A Sealed Divider is a wall that you or the driver installs after your goods are loaded to secure and separate your items from other cargo on the trailer. Your shipment will not be moved during transit.
3. What size are the trailers?
The trailers are 28’ to 53’ commercial trailers with inside dimensions of 8 feet wide and 9 feet tall. Holds from 14,000 # to 24,000# of household goods.
4. Where can WeHaul moving transport my household shipment?
WeHaul Moving can arrange to move your household items anywhere in the world.
5. How and when should I pay for the move?
Our normal company policy is that your move be paid in full (via credit card or cashiers check) prior to pick up of your loaded trailer from your originating address. A deposit is required upon booking of trailer.
6. Will there be household shipments on my trailers?
Your shipment will be the only household goods on the trailer. With any space that is left on the trailer, behind Sealed Divider, the Carrier will be loading commercial freight behind your shipment.
7. How long does it take to move?
That depends on many factors, including the time of year, weather conditions, time required to load and unload and the direction and distance your shipment is traveling. WeHaul Moving can usually arrange completion of your shipment within 3-6 business days. With the help of our dispatching and tracking system, pickup and delivery dates are usually scheduled according to your needs. If you have a special or unusual request, ask your estimator, who will try to accommodate you as best as possible.
8. Is WeHaul moving a household good motor carrier or van line?
